About Us
David James Kurestsky founded Industrial Surplus Inc, in 1938. He operated the business until 1966 at which time his sons Howard and Martin carried on his dream of making a great family business. As time continued, Howard operated ISI, while Martin expanded part of the business into related materials, and to this day has a successful business.
As the year's progressed Howard expanded the business from mainly mechanical products to electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic products. Howard formed a strategic business model that focused on a customer first theory; to this day, he believes in forming a long-term relationship with our customers. Industrial Surplus Inc. has been successful for this very reason.
In recent years, Howard has brought in three partners to his company, Peter and David Kuretsky and Timothy Boles.
Peter Kurestsky is Howard's oldest son and is focused on Test and measurement equipment and manufacturing equipment. Peter's understanding of equipment use allows him to re-market products directly to end users. Peter has been with the company for over 20 years.
David Kuretsky is Howard's youngest son. His primary duties are in the acquisition and sale of electronic components such as integrated circuits, capacitors, diodes, transistors and all related material. David has been with the company for over 15 years.
Timothy Boles has been with the company for 25 years and brings a vast knowledge of all electro-mechanical, and electronic products. Tim's years of experience in all products rounds off a powerful management team at Industrial Surplus.
